About Jason

As general manager of Lodge City Rentals, Jason is focused on ensuring performance and service standards are always met for clients, keeping them at the forefront as he runs the business’ day-to-day operations.

Jason joined Lodge in 2003 as a property manager, after spending 17 years as a self-employed builder. He quickly established a strong rapport with his landlords, and his background meant he could provide knowledgeable insights into the most efficient ways to add value to properties.

“Property is in my blood,” says Jason. “I went from building houses, to managing them for their owners.”

Early in his property management career, Jason was recognised by the industry in 2004/2005 and awarded the top Property Manager for the Waikato/BOP and Gisborne region, with nominees coming from over 75 offices in the region.

When Lodge City Rentals opened its second branch in 2008, Jason became the branch manager for the City office, later becoming the general manager in 2019.
“I thrive off the daily challenges that come with property management; no two days are the same.

“However, in order to stay competitive and the number one property management company in Hamilton, I make sure to look at the bigger picture and ensure our values of trust, excellence and best practice are always front and centre.”

As part of his role, Jason keeps up-to-date with the latest in industry technology, as well as all the relevant legislation such as the Healthy Homes regulations and Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 2020.

In leading the team, Jason enjoys seeing them flourish and knows the importance of instilling personal responsibility and accountability.
During his time at Lodge City Rentals, Jason has enjoyed seeing the growth with different clients, witnessing them transition from tenants, to homeowners then investors.

“I’m an open book for both staff and clients – I’m happy to share the knowledge I’ve built. I enjoy adding value for landlords, whether it’s improving their investment or suggesting upgrades to achieve a better yield.

Over his tenure, Jason has also seen the business itself grow. When he joined, Lodge was managing around 900 properties. After opening the second branch, its roster grew by 1,000 and now the managed properties exceed 3,400.

Jason’s personal mantra?

“I make sure to stay true to myself, and if I say I’m going to do something it gets done.”
